Colt Dillard is a Austin Texas based singer/ songwriter /guitarist . Colt was born in Alabama, growing up listening to country, rock, blues and gospel records his mother would play for him. As a teenager Colt's mother remarried and moved to Dallas Texas. This is where Colt learned about Texas blues, red dirt country and the Texas culture. Spending nights in the Deep Ellum area of Dallas, Colt would listen and learn about Texas blues. As a young adult his family business had him working in Memphis , Nashville and New Orleans. Not old enough to enter the bars on Beale Street, Bourbon street and 2nd Avenue he would listen to the jazz, blues and country ringing through the streets. Engulfed in music, Colt listened to Johnny Cash, Hank Williams Jr .Stevie Ray Vaughn, Eric Clapton, Duane Allman, B.B. King, Roy Buchanan, Billy F. Gibbons , Jimi Hendrix, Lynyrd Skynyrd, the Rolling Stones, and others that has influenced his song writing and guitar playing. Colt's debut album "Born with my boots on" releases in 2025. Colt Dillard is also the front man and lead guitar player for his blues/southern rock band " Whiskey at the Crossroads" this band explores all of Colt's blues and southern rock songs he has written.
